Hall produce another strong display in a 3-3 draw against Walsham Le Willows
Hall squander a two goal cushion to draw against Walsham Le Willows in their latest pre-season friendly.
MILDDENHALL Town U18 came away from their friendly fixture against Walsham Le Willows with a draw this evening.
The Hall were 1-0 up after just fifteen minutes, when tricky winger Jake Mingay capitalising on a defensive error to slide home.
Minutes later, United then came close to making it 2-0, Kyle Huxtable finding the foot of the post with the Walsham keeper beaten.
On 32 minutes, the second goal came, and it was Mingay again who scored for the Hall. Great work from Kyle Huxtable to beat several players in the box, who then unselfishly setup Jake Mingay who was waiting for a tap in in the area.
HT: Hall 2-0 Walsham Le Willows
The Hall came out in the second half with a 4-3-3 formation, to venture from the comfortable 3-5-2. Mildenhall looked to stamp their authority on the game further, but no real chances were created for either side. Aaron Smith came close with a wicked strike on 52 minutes and one minute later, his drilled ball across the box couldn't find a yellow shirt.
On 57 minutes the visitors pulled a goal back against the run of play. The Walsham striker nicked the ball 25 yards out and sent a superb finish over Steven Lewis and off the under side of the crossbar.
Within five minutes the Hall responded in the perfect manner. Creative combination play by Jordan Emms and Marcio Pereira setup Thomas Sheehan, who fired in a looping effort over the Walsham keeper.
The Hall then took their foot off the gas and allowed the visitors two soft goals in the 67th and 73rd minute, after failing to clear their lines and playing too 'casually' in the defensive third.
The Hall could have taken the win at the end, Ben Nolans' dazzling run around the Walsham defence and goalkeeper, but his tame effort to roll the ball into the net was met by a retreating Walsham defender.
