Mildenhall Town 5 - 1 Whitton United
U18 put in good display as Dean Hilborn continues to experiment with side
Our Thurlow Nunn Youth League side faced Whitton United U18 at Witchford Sports Centre, and ran out 5-1 winners in their second game of the 2017/18 pre-season preparations. Mildenhall dominated the game from start to finish, with the early chances being created by The Hall. New signing Harvey McGeeney bagged his first goal for The Hall with a effort from the edge of the box, and Kyle Huxtable doubled the lead later in the first half to extend the Halls lead. Mildenhall's momentum carried on into the second half, and Hall got their 3rd goal when Emms headed the ball into the back of the net. Hall grabbed their 4th minutes later when Huxtable slotted the ball home from good work by Kaine Manels and Solomon Odeleye. Halls 5th goal came on the 74th minute, when Kaine Manels slotted the ball past the onrushing Whitton keeper. The Greens grabbed a late consolation goal, when a mis-hit clearance fell to the Whitton striker, who struck home on the 89th minute.
Courtney Pettifor was very impressed' with Mildenhall Town U18 and had this to say: "We wanted to build on our match fitness today, and we did that in stylish fashion. We played some very good football at times, we looked solid at the back and looked threatening going forward. Myself, Dean Hilborn and Laurence Maskell were all really pleased with the way we controlled the game and the number of chances we created. We have to remember it is only pre-season though, so we will continue to intensify our preparations over the coming weeks."
